Yes, it would be for things still in progress,
like as in,
we release job 1 with part ‘a’, when the job was engineered and released ‘a’ was not set to backflush,
I then set ‘a’ to backflush in part entry
if I then made job 2 it would now backflush ‘a’ but job one would remain unaltered unless changed manually.
Like @gpayne said, as long as you aren’t expecting it to backflush operations that were already completed, yes, I am pretty sure you can update already released jobs so that anything that hasn’t been completed on those jobs are now eligible to initiate a backflushing of the related materials once the operations are completed.
I feel like (and this is all from memory). that you need to update JobOper AND JobMtl, but @skhan would know better as he was the one doing this for us.
Sorry for the late response. As @gpayne and @utaylor said, you can update open jobs by DMT. First, you need to query all the job info where the material has not been issued and the related operation has not been started. Once you have the list, then you can use DMT to update the job material to make it backflush. Here’s the sequence you need to follow: 1. Job head to Unreleased and un-engineered the jobs, 2. Job Material to update backflush info, 3. Again Job Head to Engineer and Release the jobs.
