Avalara Not Charging Tax

We are currently using Avalara for tax purposes, but we are running into an issue where we have a specific “Ship To” location where we want to charge tax because of the state we are shipping to, but the system still wants to make them tax exempt. the main location we want to be tax exempt, but we are trying to get one location to charge tax, but can’t get it to recognize it.

I’m trying to figure out what we are missing so that we can process a quote.

I am assuming that you are not using CertCapture in Avalara. If you assign an entity use code at the billing level, all of the ship to’s will be exempt. You need to have two shipto’s for the account. The main ship to will have an entity use code and the other not.
