Automatic time-out switch on vantage users

Yes, this is also a nice feature about the utility...............some
workstations don't have to use the time-out it you don't want them to. The
company that I work for is very, ah, cost cutting.......................ah,
okay, CHEAP so we didn't want to buy the utility at first. But, I really
encouraged the company to buy it after all of the good input I heard from
the list. IT REALLY IS WORTH EVERY PENNY!!!

Can anyone help me with a problem. We have a 16-user Vantage licence
with about 30 people able to access the
system, but we constantly have trouble with users gaining access as
there are already 16 users logged in to Vantage.
We find there are always 3 to 5 users who leave their computer logged
in to Vantage, but don't use it for long periods of time. We'd like
to automatically log these users out of Vantage, if they are idle for
more than 30 minutes. I can currently manually log users out through
PRO MON, but this is very time-consuming. Does anyone know a fix?

Try Mike Podlin's timeout utility. Works great. (is only $100US and worth
every penny) send him an e-mail at Michael.Podlin@... or try out his web

I agree! We had the problem with many people needing access and not able to
get on too! So, we bought 2 more licenses. This helped for about 2 weeks!
Then we bought Mike's time-out utility! We haven't had a problem since!
The only complaints I get now are that "Hey, I got kicked off!" (after 20
minutes of idle time) when obviously they were just sitting on their Vantage
screens for no reason anyway! This way you get to figure out who the
problem people were!

Has anyone had a problem with the time out utility causing problems when a
user is in a transaction screen and is logged out or any other potential
problems with automatically logging someone out? I was wondering if some
users (accounting) should not have the time out utility applied to them.
Thanks for the input.

Actually, if someone needs a longer time for the timer, you can customize
their time to their workstation. I have 2 power users who answer a lot of
verbal questions while in Vantage but still need to stay in Vantage. It was
verrrrry easy to customize the timer for their workstations. The default
time is 20 minutes and 60 minutes for the 2 power users. I have had my
AR/AP person comment that she was kicked out while balancing the check book
(we do it manually on paper), so I changed her timer just a teensy bit
higher than the default. But, otherwise after all the whining everyone gets
use to it. And, we have some pretty old workstations and so far the
utility hasn't crashed any of them.

Can you disable the Time-Out for certain workstations? We have some
Data-Collection pc's that we would
