We have recently upgraded to 10.2.600.6, after the upgrade several users have encountered the situation where starting the client causes the Auto Update process to run.
This is not happening for all users but consistently for a handful of users.
The properties for the shortcut are not the culprit.
I assume you’ve tried uninstalling, and re-installing.
Did these users have the Client installed for a prior version? Have those files been fully deleted before the install of the client for 10.2.600?
Follow Calvin’s advice first. Another idea is to compare the .Sysconfig files between one that works and the ones that don’t. Maybe even copy a working one to the non-working one. There are two things that cause the Auto-Update: the flag on the shortcut (which you’ve checked) and a difference of the release level in the sysconfig file to the Server’s release level.
