Subject: [Vantage] Auto Reports

In version 6.1 I used Report Builder + Mike Podlin's Auto Reports to
generate several reports automatically some of which were formatted as
HTML and then scheduled via task scheduler to upload to a website. Now I
am on V8.03 and need to achieve the same thing. I know Crystal Reports
can be generated on a schedule however the output is an XML file whose
name varies each time the report is created. Can anyone offer any
suggestions how to pull off auto generating html (or any other browser
compatible format) reports that can be uploaded to a website?

Thank in advance

Has anyone purchased the Auto Reports program from Michael Podlin? I
purchased the export function, set it up as specified but have yet to see
any export. It defaults to printing only. If there is someone that has
also purchased the export function and has got it to work, please let me
know what the trick is. I have contacted Michael but he is stumped on this
issue.

I am running Vantage 4.0 and have made sure that there are no spaces in both
the directory name and the report name. I have also made sure that the both
are only 8 characters in length in case there is a naming issue too.

Any help would be appreciated...

I have it and the trick is to name your report with a prefix as noted in the
manual. Manual is in the AutoReports directory in the Vantage folder by
default and it is called Manual.pdf. Any way if you have a report you want
to export to a text file the report should be named TXT-reportname. No
spaces. This would export a file "reportname.txt" to the directory specified
in Auto Reports. For html use HTM-reportname, pdf use PDF-reportname. Hope
this helps.

I have a procedure that runs all reports in a report library. I can get it to run but the problem is it won't print unless I'm logged on. I have a batch report that runs the procedure and I'm using task scheduler to schedule the task. If I setup a scheduled task to run it and I'm logged on, it works great. If I'm logged off, it never prints although the task log shows that it started. Is there a way to setup task scheduler to be able to run the reports AND print them without having to be logged on?

Thanks,
Jasper
