Auto Job Complete/Close in 8.x

It does look at the final op first (it shouldn't select anything where
the final op is not complete) what it does not consider is if pieces
have been shipped or recieved to stock. We are using job receipts to
stock rather than the auto receive functionality because it has been too
easy to forget to check the flag and my inventory people were having a
hard time since the job details are not visible from the labor input
screens.

Thanks for the input!

Yes that may be part of the problem. I assume you meant that is required
even if the code applied does not include operation thresholds?

All my BOMs have final operations on each which has no estimate since
there
is no cost associated with that operation, only quantity. I thought
since
the op is marked as Quantity Only vs. Time and Quantity it would not
require
the estimate. But in the Job Complete Exception tracker, it still wants
a
cost estimate.

And I tested with two jobs one had all materials issued exactly, and one
had
one line that was not issued. The latter's exception message spoke of
the
missing operation cost estimate, but did not list the missing material
issue
as an exception. I expected it to cite both conditions.

Another question I just thought of is I only want to complete jobs that
are
candidates first (i.e. final op is complete) and then meet all the
parameters defined in the code. It doesn't look like that is possible(?)
The process can only look at the parameters available in the code:
material,
labor, subcontract and cost

If you go to the Job Closing or Job Completion (I don't know which you
are trying to do), it will tell you why the jobs won't close. I know
that each operation must have an estimated dollar value in order for it
to work

I'm experimenting with this feature but am unable to get any jobs to
complete automatically. Using the help screens as a guide, I set the
parameters to (material qty only) over 10% or under 10% should be
excepted. I assigned these parameters to a product group that I know
had some candidates for completion and all showed up on the exception
log uncompleted even though the materials issued were exactly equal to
the expected qty. Can't figure what I am missing here. Is any one
using this feature successfully that could offer some possible
explanation?
