We cannot figure out how to invoice multiple Sales Order lines through Milestone Billing. As I understand it, you link 1 SO line to 1 MB line to 1 Invoice line.
One example of a flow is as follows:
3x lines on a SO, one line per product
3x lines on MB (e.g. 30%, 60%, 10%)
3x lines needed on an AR invoice (e.g. 30% of product 1, 30% of product 2 etc.)
The only way I can achieve this, is to bypass MB completely, and invoice straight from the SO. What functionality do you lose by not invoicing from the project? Is there a better way?
Suggest to make 1 milestone linked to one of the SO Line.
On milestone completion give full completed value (amount including all SO lines).
In AR Invoice - break the single milestone into 3 lines referred with SO lines, all totaling to milestone value.
Thank you @Srakesh0303. By using this method, there will be some SO lines that have not been linked to a project MB line, what functionality do you lose within projects as a result of this? Are you still able to report on the relevant cost and income data per product?
You will not loose any project functionality with this approach.
For product costing/income you may want to add new custom report to get desired result.
