Carl,
Thank you, this was very helpful, it worked!
I have two more to go, one is the context menu in sales order tracker,
shipments grid, and the other one is a dashboard that I want to add to
the context menu. I am not sure if it's possible to do.
The underlying BAQ for "Sales Order Shipment Status" System Dashboard
has a "one to one" table connection between ShipHed and ShipVia tables,
which contributes the dashboard not showing information on shipped
orders. I created a new dashboard based on the system dashboard, now I
need to add it the Order Number context menue.

There are two possibilities.
Start customization like you were going to customize a form, pick any
form from which you can get to your context menu and start to enter data
(for a test I used Part entry, entered a part, then right clicked on the
part field, and chose the context menu that you are trying to fix, like
PartTracker).
This will give you a little pop-up window with information about the
call to the context men including the actual men that the pop-up will be
calling. In my case it referenced JCGO3005.
You have to find this menu and fix the form in this menu or point to the
customized form if you've already developed it.
If there is no menu ID then there will be a Process Key. Make note of
that name (a screen shot here is helpful) Again, in my case when I
choose Part Transaction History Tracker, I see a process key:
Epicor.Mfg.UI.PartTranHistTracker.
Keep going and you will pull up this form and if needed, you can
customize it and save the customization.
But to use this new customized form, you have to go to Utilities,
Process Calling Maintenance. If you create a new entry there and
reference the Process key, you then can choose, as the default, your
customized menu. Note that if you fill in the box, Called From, this
menu will (should?) apply only to that particular call. If you leave
this blank, this menu choice will be used whenever this call is made.
There is quirk here that I ran into recently but I won't wax on about
this. Let's just say the the same process can appear to be called from
two locations (in my case Approved Vendor from Part and Approved Vendor
from Vendor) but it took two menu customizations to get this done in
both places.
