So you would have to have a different department number for various
sections of your balance sheet? This would not work for us, as we are
currently setup since all of our balance sheet accounts are in the same
department.
We do not have the P/R module, so I can't help you there, but I would
assume so. We use MES to capture direct labor to the work order.
Engineering charges most of their time to development jobs, but this in
entered manually. I have to do 1 entry a month to reclass the
engineering O/H to the correct G/L account. We have a very simple setup
with one O/H rate for production & 1 for engineering.
Hope this helps.
Tim

No, it a matter of having a department associated with the relevant
labor entry. Whichever shop employee logs the labor recovery is the one
that assigns the department criteria. In Europe the payroll module is
not sold as a module, so users setup shop employees under job management
and still collect GL entries divisionally/departmentally. The same would
apply to any user with the payroll.

Subject: [Vantage] Applied Labor & Overhead
Is there any way to direct the applied labor and applied overhead to
multiple general ledger accounts in 8.03.404A? I only find one place,
which is in Company Maintenance, where you assign an account for applied
labor and an account for applied overhead. Is there somewhere in setup
that applied labor can be directed to different general ledger accounts
based upon departments?
