Applied labor and overhead

They use the GL controls specified on the JC department used on the resource group marked as the primary operation detail on the job operation. Say that three times fast.Â

Question:

Do you want the original transaction to point to one department based on the individual data collecting or are you looking at the amounts going into a corporate account and then allocated based on a percentage to several departments?

Also, what version are you running?

Deirdre,

I want the original transaction to point to different
departments based on data (labor) input for the jobs.  Specifically there
are multiple operations on a job, and I want the applied labor/overhead for
each operation to point to a different department.  Currently all applied
labor/overhead is going to on department regardless of the operation.

Version 9.05.702a

Thanks!

We are on 9.05.700b

This is how we have ours set-up.

First, each operation has a primary operation detail set up (which is our resource groups).

Second, In resource group maintenance there is a department applied to that particular resource group.

Third, In the department maintenance, a GL control must be set-up and associated for that department.

When setting up the GL control, do not enter the account but only the department you want to point the account. (ie. One of our department is 30 – so the GL control account reads – 0000-00-30-00).

Hope this helps.
