Application Studio - New Application Wizard - Create New Record?

Howdy,

I’m playing with Application Wizard, working with UD01 from a BO service instead of a BAQ.

My aim is to see if I can maintain UD01 like the UD01 form does and add a list view, which the Kinetic UD01 form does not appear to have.

All is good, except I can’t seem to create a new record.

I can add a save and a delete event:

But nothing like a new record button or a new record action in the overflow menu shows up:

Am I just missing it? Is there a workaround?

Thanks,

Joe

Works fine in our Version Are you in 2022? If so I suspect it doesn’t work there yet.

Sorry, it’s 2024.2.4.

I also tried adding a tool:

No apparent effect.

I suppose I could add a button and create an event. Maybe. . .

Thanks,

Joe

no in that version it works fine

Is your BAQ SAetup correctly to allow New?

I mean in your screenshot there’s a + button right above the grid…

NewRecord

Nevermind I didn’t realize that you were using the new functions in the CR version… hmmm

Jose,

I’m not getting the view from a BAQ, but the BO service. It’s probably easier if I just show the flow:

See if that all makes sense.

Thanks,

Joe

I didn’t make all the fields updatable the first time. But when I make them all updatable it didn’t seem to make a difference.

And I don’t have Paste Insert as an option:

I do get paste insert

Well, maybe it’s just an issue with the brand-new Pilot release of 2024.2.4. I don’t have a need for this at present, only wanted to know if it would work.

Thanks for your help, Jose.

Addendum:

When I choose an updatable BAQ as the data source, I do get a new record button, but then not a save button or delete option.

I can create a new record and populate Key1 and other fields and can’t save it. I would expect that if I create another new record, it would save the first, but no.

In fact, I’m unable to save a new record even with Paste New. The records show up on the screen but don’t save.

The same when I generate an updatable dashboard from Classic and test it as a Kinetic dashboard.

But it works just fine when I test as a Classic dashboard.

I don’t need all this at the moment, but it would be good to know what, if anything, I’m doing wrong.

This looks to be the move.
