Anyone using EKW PO Receipts?

I am testing EKW PO Receipts using Honeywell EDA71 devices. I would like to create a template for the PO Receipt > Receipt page so that I can scan the part#, PO line#, Release #. Then, I want to scan the quantity. I’m not having much luck creating the template to do that. Has anyone else done anything similar using the templates?

What is EKW

They change their damn names more than their underwear over there so is EKW the new name? :triumph: I just started calling it EMWW it was “handheld module” for the longest time

And I thought you were joking around when you asked, “what is EKW”

I believe that’s the new/latest name. The user guide is EMWW dated 06/09/2021 and is very basic. I wish it gave “real” examples that work!

No I had no idea lol specially cuase the question spoke about creating templates on the receipt screen which I don’t believe is a feature of “EMWW”(EKW) at all

Supposedly you can with the PO Receipt > Entry and PO Receipt > Receipt page. I just can’t get beyond the partnum.

Bonnie, I don’t have the latest version, but are you sure that a template exists to do that?

Their user guide does show how to set a template, do you have that for reference?

Yes. I’m working with the PO Receipt > Entry and Receipt pages that are supposed to work according to the manual and I talked to a consultant that said it should work, but wasn’t given any real life references.
Are you scanning PO Receipts using EKW or EMWW or whatever you call Epicor scanning?

This is why I just couldn’t do EKW. It’s so hard to get any straight answers and customizing it beyond the templates they give isn’t possible, AFAIK.

I will say though, I never had a template that didn’t work. In other words, if they had it as an option, it always worked whether that was PO Num first, PO Line, Part, etc… Or for inventory moves, Starting bin, part num, etc…

I don’t use EKW in production, they only time I used it was when I was testing it out doing system comparisons between EKW and Bezlio.

Do you mean a template for a QR code that handles all of them? We are doing the QR codes internally but hope to add them on labels from major suppliers in the next few months. Since most of our parts have complex lot/piece numbers that will be huge time savings. I’ve not been the guys doing the detail work but could pass info on to him.

You can either create a fixed or dynamic user created template depending on the barcode, fixed will be easier to use to get to grips with the functionality and then you can expand it to a Dynamic one. You’ll need to create this in Settings > Scanner - Template and select from the dropdown PO Receipt > Receipt.

If you typed "fixed:${partNum}-${lineNum}-${relNum}-${qty}, this would work if your barcode is setup as PONUM-LINENUM-RELNUM-QTY (i.e.* 5642-1-1-250*). A separator of “-” isn’t mandatory FYI.

You can verify if your multi barcode is being used on the device

Good luck
Joe

I’m finally getting back to this…I created a simple PO Receipt Entry template with the format:
fixed:${poNum}/${packSlip}

Now, trying to create data to test scanning in Excel and it doesn’t work…(I’m concatenating 2 columns separated by a ‘/’, wrapped with asterisks…then I use the 3 of 9 font).
It scans 3030
30347,/,BS123
Any ideas or isn’t it that easy?
