Aged Receivables

I have a couple, sorted by CustID or Name. Seems to me I wrote them way
back when we wanted a name sorted aging but later changed all the CustIDs to
be more or less alphabetical. Be happy to send either or both RB reports in
a .PRL.

Here they are. All the normal caveats about DB name and company filter and
so forth would apply.

Greetings all, I hope everyone had a great holiday season.

We have just ran our first Aged Rec report since moving from 5.0 to
5.20.211.
Our A/R group is trying to figure out why our invoices from 12/31/2002 are
going into the future column instead of the current.
Does anyone in our group have some insight into this issue? Everything else
seems to be in order.

Sounds like the invoices were probably posted on 01/01/03 or 01/02/03 and
since it is ageing on 12/31/02, these invoices would be considered "future."
We went to 5.2 in October and haven't had any problems on this issue. Hope
this helps.

There's an "aging by invoice date / due date" option that could be
affecting things.

Are you sure it's really in 2002 and not 2003? It is a good idea to avoid
entering all the GL periods for the new year in January. Some entry
screens match dates to them, and NOT having Nov and Dec can avoid a lot of
data entry errors at the first of the year where Dec one month ago ends up
entered as Dec 11 months ahead.

Dunno about AR, but the AP system has ~no~ sanity checks on the invoice
date -- eg: is it 30 years in the future? Is there a corresponding GL
period? AP also uses the AP batch date for the posting GL period and
ignores the individual invoice dates. These problems can be very confusing
if your accounting folk expect the aging to match up to the GL posts.
