Every Advanced Search question I’ve looked up on E10Help has gone unanswered.
Hopefully, that changes so we can help some out, including myself.
I created a dashboard that has a BAQ that hits UD01. I display UD01.Key1, among a few other UDFields. After creating the dbd, I go to the Adv Search tab under General. There, I check “Advanced Search” but there are no Available “Like” columns to select. So the Advanced Search never shows up anywhere. What gives? I fear I’m missing something silly.
If anyone else runs into this, just make a Quick Search. It’s tremendously faster. Set it as Context Default and Base Default and it’ll load right away whenever a search is called for your UDTable
Just ran into Advanced Searches for the first time. We have a BAQ search that we have been using to aid in the Fulfillment Workbench process. We have a need to filter by specific vendors for our fullfillment passes and needed the ability to select all for a specific vendor. Sorting by vendor worked okay, but it still allowed some selection error and the end user really wanted a filter. Using a Advanced search was the better answer.
BAQ searches seem fine if the rows are granular enough, Advanced Searches are better if you need proper filtering. Do note that the advanced search seem to reference the dashboard runtime.
…It doesn’t look like you hit the issue I had above as JobNum is Like column. Doesn’t solve the issue for UDs. The problem wasn’t making them, but getting them to appear in searches against UDs.
