Advanced Planning and Scheduling

Hi Lee,
I am in the process of trying to implement eScheduling now. The first thing
we found, was that we have a lot of cleaning up to do in Vantage. Production
has been real lax in making sure that operations were completed properly, in
the system, and we also found many orders that have been waiting (in some
cases years) for Proof approvals to come back. We have not done a good job
of keeping the information in Vantage Clean and current. We also found that
there are many operation standards that need to be addressed, in order for
eSchedule to be of any use. In our case, there is much preliminary work to
be done. I've taken the eScheduling class and understand the theory behind
the program. It's quite impressive. Whether we can make it work effectively
or not, has yet to be determined. If resources will allow, I would highly
reccommend the services of Kevin Rosell from Epicor. Kevin is well versed in
eScheduling, as well as having much knowledge of Vantage and manufacturing
processes. I understand that he will only be doing customer sites, through
this summer.

Well I know you, and excited is an understatement. (Good guy though, with a
great old truck) Glad to see you on the list, Gordon. Also glad to see that
I'm not the only one that's a little slow in warming up to the new bi-di
APS, eScheduling, or whatever it's being called this month. I am hoping for
(actually praying for) good things from this version. The last thing I need
is a program feeding more trash into the Vantage systgem. That's what we have
employees for... : )
