I have a report that already has some criteria prompts on a menu, and I am trying to add one more so I can only show certain results. I added the parameter to the BAQ that is connected to the report, the criteria mapping is on the RDD criteria, and I added the prompt by selecting the criteria mapping and clicking “create report criteria prompts for selected”.
Is there something else that I have to do to make the prompt show up on the menu? Will I have to edit the menu in application studio to add the prompt?
Based on your first screen shot this report is a Dynamic Criteria report with the data source coming from a BAQ. The BAQ has to have a parameter, you then add the criteria and map the criteria to the parameter.
If you are using the classic RDD screen you will get these menu options in your actions menu.
Refer to the online help for Creating SSRS Reports Using Business Activity Queries (BAQs). It takes you through all the steps.
I also noticed on the Report style there is Generate Form option, the documentation does not mention anything, but I’m thinking (and I have not tested it) that after updating the RDD you need to regenerate the form in the report style.
Don’t do enough of these using the Kinetic UI to be 100 % sure.
It looks like the way to fix this was to generate form in the report style menu. I never would have looked there because I only use the classic view of report style.
