Adding new fields to existing tables ( unsure if UD fields ?)

I am using the SLS and am wanting to add 3 new fields/columns to the existing AC_SegAccom table called DementiaAccom, FinancialStatus, ProposedResident and 1 new field/column to the QuoteHed table called Urgency.

I was told that this is done by going into the UD Column Maintenance and adding them as UD fields to a UD table then request for the database regeneration process to take place. I am lost on how to approach this. I have done some research and am wondering if I create a table e.g AC_SegAccom_UD then add those columns into the AC_SegAccom_UD table then go to the below in extended property maintenance:

And add into the like section the original AC_SegAccom table and linked column, save it then request the regeneration process?

Make sure you are logged into Epicor as a System Manager
Locate the UD Column Maintenance in the menu
Select New
Search for the table that you want to add the field to
Add the new fields
Request a Regeneration of the Data Model and a Recycle of the Application pool

Extended properties are useful but not necessary for UD Fields.

If it is the first time you ever create a UD Field, this blog post may help you:
