I want to add additional column for Expiry Date on Part on hand status view.
Any idea?
There is a “Shelf Life / Days” field in Part Maintenance, but I believe it is meant to be used in Lot Tracked parts. Not sure if actually calculates anything for you. Never needed to test that.
You could still use this field to assign the shelf life of a part. You could then create a BPM to set an expiration date field on your Part On Hand view based on the PartTran receive date + Shelf Life.
That would be my first thought, anyway.
Like David mentioned, Expiration Date is used with the Lot capability. You define which Lot attributes you want for the Lot in Part Entry and when you want to prompt for this information. Each lot has its own record (Lot Entry), and that is where you can maintain the Expiration Date (among other attributes) of the lot.
Just announced in Kinetic 2024.1, MRP will now take expiration date into account when planning materials so if a lot expires before the need by date, it will suggest to order more.
