ABOM Report question

Mike

You can do this but it starts becoming complex the deeper your
BOM is. Patrick has posted a report using the technique and I think I might
have posted a version a while ago too. You have to reconnect the
appropriate tables using an alias name. For example: level 1 would be
"Part1", level 2 would be "Part2", level 3 would be Part3, and so on. At
each level you would need to connect the appropriate tables to pull the
information you need also using alias'. If you can't locate the right file
in the files section I'll dig out my copy and send it to you.

Subject: [Vantage] ABOM Report question

Greetings All,

I think I'm overcomplicating what I am trying to accomplish so thought I
would throw this out to the group as a sanity check.

I'm trying to analyze the percentage of time a part should spend in a
specific department (based on the ABOM not jobs). For a single level
assembly this isn't difficult but I'm having difficulty when trying to
compile the same data for indented manufactured parts (3-4 deep).

Here is what I would like to see:

Part PARENT PART Mfg Lot size = 10000
10 Assembly 25 Hrs
20 Paint 20 Hrs

.MFG ASM1
10 Punch Press 22 Hrs
20 Secondary 10 Hrs

.MFG ASM2
10 FourSlide 25 Hrs
20 Secondary 5 Hrs

.MFG ASM3
10 Assembly 10 Hrs
20 Paint 7 Hrs

Total Departmental Time

Assembly = 35 Hrs 28%
Punch Press = 22 Hrs 18%
Four Slide = 25 Hrs 20%
Secondary = 15 Hrs 12%
Paint = 27 Hrs 22%
----------
124 Hrs

The breakout in hours per dept. and percentage of total is what I'm trying
to obtain. I run into problems with my reports as I go after the
subassemblies. Has anyone done anything like this before for subassembly
parts? Any suggestions?

Thanks!
