A Valid Lot Number is Required Error

We are on 10.2.500.11. Normally we are a Make to Order shop but recently decided to investigate making some components (screws, dowel pins etc.) to stock and issuing to jobs as needed. The part is set up as a stock part and is quantity bearing. Track lots is checked and the Mfg Lot is tracked.
I am Receiving the following error when attempting to issue material to a subassembly on a job.

Lot Search

I am stumped. Part Tracker shows the quantity and lot number are in the correct warehouse/bin.

The Job Material Requirements Report and Job Pick List show the demand is there.

I plan on opening a case with Epicor but have found the community on this site an invaluable resource. Has anyone encountered this error before?

Is it normal to have the same P/N for the Assy and the Component?

Seems like a potential circular reference.

Thanks Calvin,
Initially I did have the same part number and it created the circular reference. I then created a new part number with a leading space and a description of INVENTORY to differentiate. I had Epicor on my PC for the last 45 minutes looking into the issue. No resolution as yet as all of the tables we queried show the correct lot. I am going to create a new part number (INV-802-05-101-02) and attempt to manufacture then issue. I will update on the progress.

After creating a new part number without a leading space I was able to manufacture, receive into stock, and issue to the necessary job. No errors. So, apparently Epicor can get confused in the parttran table if there is a leading space in a part number and another without it. Lesson learned. Thanks again for looking at this @ckrusen.

FTR I would NEVER use a leading or trailing space in a partnum. I think E10 will automatically strip them off the trailing end
