A site can be deactivated in Epicor?

Can a site be deactivated in Epicor? if yes, how to do it? Or we just remove it from user’s company authorized sites list in user account maintenance. Thanks.

Removing it from the user’s company is step one of a long process. You actually cannot simply delete the site once there are activities against it. the site will continue to show on screens like Part Entry if the part has a PartPlant record against it.

Thank you, Tim.

I see this topic come up frequently and I thought there is a way to do it in Admin Console assuming no transactions were EVER created. If just some basic setup was done, is it really true a company cannot be removed??

I think the OP was referring to a site within a company. Like if you had 5 sites, and one was closed, leaving yo the remaining 4.

Is there a documented process to disable a site completely or at least to make it totally transparent to users? We have a site we closed 2 years ago and I removed the site permission from them but we still see the part site records as well.

Thanks,
Tanner

A complaint of mine is that you can’t even make a part inactive by site. If you no longer want a part to be usable (purchased, made, sold, etc…) at a particular site, you’d have to do it via BPM’s and customizations.

The only places in E10 that are rigid when it comes to being site specific, are receiving and shipping. You can’t even look at a packer that was created in plant B, form the Shipment Tracker opened in Plant A.

Here’s a some things I’d do if I had to “disable” a site (the following assumes that all processing is done. No invntory, open POs, open jobs etc…)

  • Remove Any shared warehouses (Site Config)
  • Remove Any Transfer definitions (Site Config)
  • Set all bins to Inactive
  • Set PartPlant QtyBearing to false

Some BPM’s on the Search BO’s might be able to filter the results to exclude search results from showing “inactive” sites
