9.05.701 SQL Allowing Save on Time and Expense Approval

Sue,
We have Time and Expense Licenses. Probably the only licenses we don't have is (epicor education and the SDK) :(

I don't think this is our issue, but all I can say about the different options for supervisors and updating time on other employees behalf is it's a bit of a dark art in understanding who can do what. Not to mention there is another check box on the user record that allows unfettered updating of time and expenses, unfortunatley this is a global thing and not something we would want to enable at that level.

Getting back to our specific issue. I really think it is probably procedural and as a company need alert employees of rejected time in a more timely fashion (BAM perhaps) and conversly one to let the project managers that the rejected time has been resubmitted.


I guess sometimes old habits take a long time to get out of, and our old system allowed the project managers to do a lot with submitted time that E9 does not.

I am sure I was able to alter time information on the time and expense approval detail form in 9.05.606a, but don't have a reference system to check against.

I wanted to add some UD fields to the LaborDtl table and have them display on the Time and Expense Approval form to allow project managers to update those fields at the time of approval.

Does anyone know how to enable the Save menu and toolbar items on this form? I have been scratching my head for ages on this. In actual fact it would give our Project managers some flexibility in updating time records that employees on their projects have entered incorrectly instead of going throught the whole reject with comment/re-submit process.

I have ended up creating and Updatable dashboard, but am still interested in wanting to know why you can't turn on the save button. Could this be one of those "you need the SDK to do that" moments?
