Delete your pcrules directory. It contains compiled code that doesn't
like it when the schema changes between versions. The code will recreate
itself the first time you configure an item.

Has any one using the Configurator upgraded to 9.05.603?

If so have you had any problems with the Configurators?

At this time I have run the Conversion program 5905, and my Configurators are not working properly.

Thanks,
Rick
Rick,
I've been testing on 9.05.603 with configurators and have
run into a few things. We skipped 602x entirely and after
going to 603 our "layered" or template bom sub-configurators
were not ever running, just the top parent config.

- Running conversion program 11005 resolved that for us. We
are running 603 with E9/Open Edge x32, on a x64 Win Svr 08
with SQL 08 in x64 mode.

- I'm now seeing that the firing off of the On Leave events
appears to have changed. I believe that we now need an actual
real user to exit (tab off) of an input to make the On Leave
event fire. Previously I could get all controls on a page
(and the page event itself) to pre-run their OnLeave
events at the page load.
? have you seen anything similar, or found any way to get
the events to fire properly ?

- Karl Weisel.

Karl,

I ran the conversion program 11005 it doesn't do anything more then what
the 5905 conversion did.

I enter a part on a sales order, and then hit the configurator button.
My screen pops up, and I hit save, at this time I do not have anything
on this screen, all the information I need comes from the header. Once I
hit save I get a 4GL Code Error, and the program does not finish
running.

I can unapproved the revision and the configuration, and then approve
everything, and it will work just fine, but if Epicor thinks I am going
to do that for a couple of thousand parts they are crazy!

If you are getting a 4GL error, that should give you a means to
find out what's wrong. Either the 4gl error message box, or the
app server log file (xx905\server\logs) should point you to a
temp xxx.P file with a line and column num. Those are normally
in the xx905\server\pcrules\ dirs. The code around
that area should relate to one of your set field, keep when,
on leave, etc. rules that's making trouble. Correct or delete
and try again from there.

Delete your pcrules directory. It contains compiled code that doesn't like it when the schema changes between versions. The code will recreate itself the first time you configure an item.

Mike suggested:

May I suggest that you copy your pcrules directory first? We did this
during the an upgrade and there was a bug in the configurator and it
wouldn't recreate the pcrules. We never thought of restoring that
directory at the time and we went without the configurator for weeks.

Mark,

Thanks,

This worked. Epicor told me to delete the folder, and run the conversion
program 11005.

All I needed to do was to delete the folder, create a new empty folder,
and every time I run a new part it creates the file.

Sincerely,

Rick Hagy
