8.03.408B Premature Release Closes on Short Shipments

You know. This is actually a big deal. I know that epicor doesn't think so. BUT the effects of this throughout the system are huge. (one example, Backlog report. Releases marked closed that shouldn't be don't show up on reports) Also I LOVE when the shipping/order entry person keeps reminding me of it.

Just fix it already.

What am I paying $20,000 a year for (don't tell me R & D either)

We've been doing partial shipments more than we have in the past and
have noticed a new problem.



Shipping sends parts to a customer from a sales order, but doesn't
ship the line complete. I've disabled the 'shipped complete' checkbox
to avoid operator error. However the OrderRel.OpenRelease field is set
to False after the shipment, according to the changelogs, and it appears
as if the operator made this change.



Has anyone seen this before? We have a dashboard to track the closed
order lines, but why is Vantage doing this, and how can we fix it?

We have had the same thing happening for over 6 months. Our plan this week is to upgrade to .409c and hope that this will be corrected.

Is there something in the 409C release notes that suggests to you that
this problem is fixed by this service pack, or are you just hoping for
the best?

This bug is one of the main reasons we're still on 8.03.405. We noticed it when we were testing .406.
