you need 1.21 gigawatts to keep them running.

just kidding, we have Intel core 2 duo (E6550, 2.33 GHz) and 2GB RAM for most and they run as fast as this software seems to run.

Has anyone experienced slow client performance? Launching Vantage and
the various screens? I have a couple clients that just seem to take
forever.

One tweak I do know about is the AlternateCacheFile in the mfgsys file.
That helps a little.

I had some slow ones on 6.1 once. For slow launch I changed security on regocx.log in the local work folder to not allow the user to write to it. Causes an error message to click through but starts Vantage very quickly. Not sure if this is still applicable to 8.x. For slow performance moving affected users to a different network switch helped a lot. Leading me to believe network issues are a big factor in performance. When I moved them from an older 3COM switch to a new HP-Procurve the difference was dramatic.

A more appropriate question would be does any one (with significant # of user logged in) NOT experience slow client performance.
