As I am running the 6430 conversion program for a client on E9.05, I am wondering if E10 is better at keep track of some of these seeming basic calculations.
Any feedback from those users on E10?

I can tell you that you will never run conversion 6430 again. It was moved out to the main menu:
Nope, unfortunately not! Instead of root causing it, Epicor just created a new conversion that is easier to run from within the application itself. In E10 onwards, it’s located here:
System Management – Rebuild Processes – Mfg – Distribution – Refresh Part Quantites and Allocations
There is also a newer version of FXPartBinsAll (don’t quote me on that E9 name, that’s from memory):
System Management – Rebuild Processes – Mfg – Distribution – Refresh PartBin QOH from PartTran

Mark
Well, that’s a bit disheartening…
Thanks for the feedback.

In what situations do you know that you need to run conversion 6430? We have an issue where the Part Tracker on hand quantities does not match with the running total in Part Transaction History Tracker.
I would recommend running it weekly in report only mode and if you see issues, run it again in update mode - and do so during a maintenance window and not while users are active.

We test ran conversion 6430 in our test environment in update mode and the report is showing 53 pages worth of parts. Not sure if it actually updated the quantities or why it’s showing that many parts if they were updated for some other issue and that is why it is showing up on the report. It resolved the part in question but the report didn’t indicate the correct update before and after.
