6.1 Database Size

Juliet,
I can't comment about total size, not knowing your setup, but...
You might want to look closely at the BAM and any logs you have setup there.
A simple change to a field can create a significantly sized record to
explain who, what and when the change was.
Limit what you are tracking to what you need and nothing more.
HTH,
Aaron Hoyt

Subject: [Vantage] 6.1 Database Size

Our DB is growing at a rate of 1GB every 5 months. It is currently 8.34GB.
Our performance is taking a huge hit. On a test server I did a purge and am
doing a dump and load to see what gain I am looking at there.

We bought a pretty hefty server last year for our progress DB. We have 3
terminal servers that we bought last year that are pretty hefty too. We are
doing some load testing on those as well. I am sure we need another
terminal server. I also know that we have some other "services" that are
running on the Progress server that we have to move including file sharing.

Any of you will large databases please post any comments or suggestion on
how to improve performance, Progress Explorer tweaks, how often you purge,
etc.

We are running RAID 1+0.
