6.1 - Bug with Dimensional Inventory and DMR's

No, just another bug for me to add to my list of the "defective
product" received by our company.

In regard to your -- "They don't move to fast on these do they..." --
Have you noticed that instead of the response that they stated in
our Maintenance Contracts, of I think 24 hours for response, that
now that only applies to critical, and Support can take 3+ days to
respond. I am going to be digging up my contract for sure on this
new Level 1, 2, 3 support response that is now appearing at epicweb.

Oh, and the SCR - you may want to check & see if they CAN fix it in
6.1, as been told, not all can, and one reason why 8.0 was pursued.
See if it has been fixed on 8.0, or ask to put a call in on it as
well, or you may be waiting months again at the next level of
release.

The issue is with dimensional nonconformed parts but it is with
value amounts. We didn't have items left open on the DMR. It just
showed one $ amount on the open DMR Report and another on the part
tracker. And then when the DMR would be rejected or accepted it
would be done with the incorrect amount. So the Open DMR Report
wouldn't reconcile with the DMR pending account. It has been awhile
since they were to fix this bug.... I have been waiting for months
now. They don't move to fast on these do they....

Just wanted to alert the group that there is a bug with the DMR
process when dealing with dimensional inventory. DMR screen gets
the inventory unit of measure (IUM) and the dimensional unit of
measure (DUM) confused. In our example, we purchase a 12 ft rod
that is machined at one end. The rods are cut to custom lengths per
job, leaving a usable length of unmachined rod (different part
number). The IUM is IN and the DUM is PC. When a 12FT rod is sent
to DMR, the screen shows the IUM quantity (144), but lists the DUM
units (PC). If the 12 ft PC is rejected and a debit memo is
requested, the Part Tracker shows that everything worked correctly
and the debit memo is for the right amount. Unfortunately, the DMR
retains the number of PC's for the quantity rejected (1) and
subtracts that from the quantity failed (144) to show that 143 are
still on the open DMR.

Vantage supports agrees that this is a known bug and is being
addressed by SCR 8653. The "solution" is to reject the incorrect
balance and send it to a write-off account. Fortunately, we do not
have a lot of dimensional parts and will probably have a lot fewer
very soon.

I was the one that pointed out this "bug" to Epicor for SCR 8653. The issue is with dimensional nonconformed parts but it is with value amounts. We didn't have items left open on the DMR.
