I do this with Report Builder (since you are on 6.0 this would work still...until 8.x). I have the shipping people enter the number of boxes and box qty via fake filters and parse the values out of the filter text to put on the labels. They print to a Zebra Z4M printer on 4x6 inch labels and use the Dataworks 39 font for the barcoding. We tend to label the boxes well in advance of entering Customer Shipment info so pick part and other info from the SO-Line entered as a filter item. We started with one customer wanting a special format and now have 40 including some with master labels stuck on the packing slip and box labels on the boxes.

Subject: [Vantage] (6.0) Shipping Labels
One of our customers would like us to use shipping labels with bar codes
on them. Our problem is, they may order 100 pieces and we need 2 boxes
of 50 pieces each to get the order shipped complete. Please let me know
if I am wrong, but if you try and do multiple packages within that
customer shipment, Vantage will not let you specify the quantity in each
package to give you the separate shipping labels. How can I get
multiple shipping labels to cover all of my boxes and their quantities?
