5.0 Year end postings

If you capture before you post the inventory count, you will need to
recapture and post or none of the adjustments will be posted to the G/L.

Hi all,

We are doing a physical inventory for year end. Our CFO wants to be sure he
is doing things in the proper order. As we understand it, we should do our
normal month end capture and post, then after that is done, we should do the
posting of the inventory count. Does that sound correct? And not being an
accounting type, I'll also ask - or does it matter what order it is done in?

Thanks much for your help.

If you did physical inventory with a date before year end you should post it before you do normal month end... because it will post in that month.
