When running .809c on SQL we had a bug that would cause the 4GL stop error.
The bug was in the sales order search dialogue box - if alpha data was entered in the search field it would crash the system.
Epicor issued a hot fix for it but I never saw any public info about the bug - I found out from a larger organization that is kind enough to help us out.
We recently moved to 810c and do not have the problem but I can't say which patch resolved it.
While I'm here will mention that 810c seems to have a problem with miscellaneous charges to jobs - worked fine in .809c but as soon as we went to 810c it began to double the cost in the total on the production detail report.
