408B bugs list Blank Title 82322

We've have been experiencing this on a sporadic basis since we went live
with Vantage 3 years ago. I can say that for the most part it does work
ok now in 408b... I would say 5-10 seconds on the average.

We're seeing the same thing on 504B. Can you send me your call ID and
I'll
try to get it connected to ours.

We just updated last nite and so far have expeirenced a problem with creating pack ID's. We learned this morning that business processes that were written were causing problems on the newer version. We had to disable those. Cant wait to see what happens next!
We installed 408B last Thursday......

Had the typical problems with Outdated method Directives. Sales
order Update was particularly difficult to get to stick but got it
sorted out with Support.

The one outstanding problem 408B left us with is that Pack Slips have
the Shit-to and the Sold-To addresses showing. 408B changed the form
to Shit-To and Bill-To but the titles of the blocks remains as it should be.

Support bucked it over to development who said to go into the Crystal
Form and fix it ourselves.

We don't do Crystal in-house and we have 3 Pack Slip forms to fix.

We are now in a combative dialog.

In the meantime we are creating Sold-to labels and glueing them to
the pack slips.

I've come up with a set procedure to fix my methods after every upgrade. It works fairly well for me.

I Open up Method Directives in the BPM module. I then load every one of my methods. I then go down the tree list and run validate for each method. If a process (or processes) doesn't validate for that method, I just click the compatible check box and save it. I then run validate again on that method to make sure all the processes validate, but I've never had one fail a second time.

Don't even get me started on the .408B! We had to change the Credit Card address (surprise!) and had to change the setup for Avalara (surprise!) and several other new things in addition to the usual problems with BPM and Customizations, etc. Oh, and did I mention that we also couldn't ship because of Insite trouble for part of the day???

We are on 408A (except for one thing it is the same as 408B), and I think it is one of the best upgrades since we went live with 403. It has the same headaches as any of the upgrades, broken BPMs and such. But once you've done a couple of upgrades you get use to this and can get through the after upgrade cleanup in just a few hours. We always check with Insight before we upgrade to see if we need a new compile of their code. They usually know and have one ready if need about a week after the upgrade is released.

The credit card processing through us at first because no one told us we would have to change the URL in our setup. Even after we called support, they couldn't help us. Fortunately, our CFO just happened to stumble across it on paypals web site and came up with the solution. There was also an uncessary and undocumented change to how methods on configured parts were pulled into jobs that really ticked me off, but I got over it (this may have happened in 408).

As far as I can tell, they only broke one thing (again, this may have been with 408), Customer attachments do not show up until you hit refresh. This only affects customer attachments. Support says they have no plans to fix this in 8.03 but it will be fixed in 9. Go figure.

Hey did folks see that there are patches for .406, and .407 for the PayPal change? Or did I miss this discussion already?

address (surprise!) and had to change the setup for Avalara (surprise!) and
several other new things in addition to the usual problems with BPM and
Customizations, etc. Oh, and did I mention that we also couldn't ship
because of Insite trouble for part of the day???

We installed 408B last Thursday.... ..

We are on 408A (except for one thing it is the same as 408B), and I
think it is one of the best upgrades since we went live with 403. It
has the same headaches as any of the upgrades, broken BPMs and such.
But once you've done a couple of upgrades you get use to this and can
get through the after upgrade cleanup in just a few hours. We always
check with Insight before we upgrade to see if we need a new compile of
their code. They usually know and have one ready if need about a week
after the upgrade is released.

The credit card processing through us at first because no one told us we
would have to change the URL in our setup. Even after we called
support, they couldn't help us. Fortunately, our CFO just happened to
stumble across it on paypals web site and came up with the solution.
There was also an uncessary and undocumented change to how methods on
configured parts were pulled into jobs that really ticked me off, but I
got over it (this may have happened in 408).

As far as I can tell, they only broke one thing (again, this may have
been with 408), Customer attachments do not show up until you hit
refresh. This only affects customer attachments. Support says they
have no plans to fix this in 8.03 but it will be fixed in 9. Go figure.

We're still having trouble getting a good proper search for customers, and the "work list" no longer works right in customer maintenance since .408b update. We seem to have trouble now with validating ship-to addresses through Avalara and they've never fixed our "available" problem (how can there be 75 available when only two in stock and none on order or jobs?) We also still have occasional problems with the "credit used" in the credit manager being incorrect. How about $ problems with the freight charges being returned from Insite to bill our customers?

I'm sure I can come up with some more... These aren't all new to .408b but some were supposed to have been corrected by then and haven't been.

Summary: RMA Processing- Invoice Management/ credit request

8/20/2009 3:37:47 PM SCUELLAR

We are getting an error when we enter a unit price. See attached for
error. After clicking ok, the tax is calculated and the record saved,
but if any more changes are made, we get a "modified by another user"
error.

SCR 66225 was created to solve this problem and will be target for

9.04.507 version

We do stock rotation RMA's - 50 lines, each with a credit request.
(credit/replace) This was killing us- took 2 hours to do one RMA. (Thank
goodness there aren't many of these, but the error shows up on line
2...) It's associated with the "calc tax" checkbox. If you unclick the
box, then add all the lines, the click the box and calculate tax, you
can avoid this. We found it in 407a, but it's in all versions until they
do the SCR...

Cheryl - What do you mean by "a good proper search for customers?" We
are running 407 and the customer search takes 45 seconds if the search
is performed at the quote or sales order entry screen. Is this to what

We're still having trouble getting a good proper search for customers,
and the "work list" no longer works right in customer maintenance since
.408b update. We seem to have trouble now with validating ship-to
addresses through Avalara and they've never fixed our "available"
problem (how can there be 75 available when only two in stock and none
on order or jobs?) We also still have occasional problems with the
"credit used" in the credit manager being incorrect. How about $
problems with the freight charges being returned from Insite to bill our
customers?

I'm sure I can come up with some more... These aren't all new to .408b
but some were supposed to have been corrected by then and haven't been.

Go figure.

We have a couple of problems with searches-- 1) if you hit search once, you get "these" one hundred customer. If you don't change ANYTHING and hit search again, you get a slightly different 100 customers. 2)we frequently don't get, for example, "3M" in our so-called blank searches that should include them 3)when we search for a customer using Starting At, it doesn't work the same way twice and occasionally doesn't Start At properly.

In Epicor 9 we created Quick Searches for these.

Wit a quick search you can also use the MATCHES criteria and can use wildcar asterisks to help tighten the search.
First you need a BAQ of the customer table with the required fields that you need to see.

We did once have a problem with Progress where it didn't order things as a logical alphabetical order but mainly due to foreign characters used for our foreign customers.

I would use a Quick Search every time on regularly used searches. 5 min to set up.

Â
We have a couple of problems with searches-- 1) if you hit search once, you get "these" one hundred customer. If you don't change ANYTHING and hit search again, you get a slightly different 100 customers. 2)we frequently don't get, for example, "3M" in our so-called blank searches that should include them 3)when we search for a customer using Starting At, it doesn't work the same way twice and occasionally doesn't Start At properly.

Cheryl - What do you mean by "a good proper search for customers?" We
are running 407 and the customer search takes 45 seconds if the search
is performed at the quote or sales order entry screen. Is this to what
you are referring?

Below is a list of 408b bugs that I was able to assemble from this
groups email. We don't do BPMs and very little custom configurations to
avoid problems. But we are an intensive user of the configurator. Are
there any that I missed? I am specifically interested in configurator,
quoting, SO, and job issues. But it is always the little bug that
really causes problems.

I included the email subject line and date for reference.

Go figure.

order Update was particularly difficult to get to stick but got it

The one outstanding problem 408B left us with is that Pack Slips have

Support bucked it over to development who said to go into the Crystal

We don't do Crystal in-house and we have 3 Pack Slip forms to fix.

We are now in a combative dialog.

In the meantime we are creating Sold-to labels and glueing them to
the pack slips.

They are fixing the customer attachments, scheduled for .410. Did a lot of complaining about this. It was working in .407 and stopped in .408. Fixing it in 9 doesn't help. Epicor should fix 8.03.x issues and any enhancements should be in 9, I can accept enhancements not be included in 8.x releases but not bug fixes.

Tom
We are on 407 as well and have noticed that Customer Searches in Quote entry
have been messed up, from discussions with Epicor we determined that if you
select the option to show all customers it seems to level out. This however
bites if you 1000000000000000000 customers and only deal with 100 of them on
a regular bases. We don't really have this issue but I know some of you
probably do.
