Hello, we have just started testing our Kinetic Upgrade however we have 100 custom SSRS reports in 10.2.700 I was told to zip the reports and upload them to kinetic one by one but I get an error
There are threads on here about the common database and how custom reports work in that now. I can’t speak to it myself because I haven’t experienced it yet. But there may be something trivial about the way you have to create and upload custom reports now.
@aosemwengie1 may know.
I have never once been able to get this to work lol. I always put classic report style maintenance on the menu and upload the reports the normal way.
The new thing where its supposed to be in the common database doesn’t work. Support accepted the bug but I don’t know when its getting fixed.
Well you heard it here first @pompe4040 … create a menu for the classic report style program and then use that to upload reports… that seems to work based on what I understand from @aosemwengie1 's post.
@aosemwengie1 , can you tell @pompe4040 what PRB number it is?
And @pompe4040 can you also create an Epicor ticket referencing that PRB so that it shows one more person is being affected by this?
Thanks for any consideration.
Respectfully,
Utah
This is literally all the information I have:
“seems there is a bug! Rich Riley is working with his team….”
No PRB???
Not that I was given.
Would the Solution Workbench work to move both the Report Style and RDD, if needed?
Yes, but the RDDs will lose all your valid/default checkboxes. It’s obnoxious.
This may not be correct, but it’s been my experience (and I did this a LOT last week).
- Your zip file MUST be named “reports.zip”
- Inside your zip file, you MUST replicate the path to the SSRS Reports exactly.
Example 1: I want to upload an SSRS report to the base ARForm folder on the reports server.
My zip file is called “reports.zip” and inside is the following:
reports > ARInvoiceForm > ARForm.rdl
Example 2: I want to upload to my customized SOAck report.
Zip file named “reports.zip”. Inside:
reports > CustomReports > SalesOrderAcknowledgement > SOAck.rdl
You can include everything from the directory, so in the same example 2, I could include the SOForm_KitComponents.rdl as well.
If you’re uploading from report style maintenance, it will fail if the RDL named in your “Report Location” field isn’t present in your zip file with the same path. The upload will also ignore any .rdl files that aren’t added as a subreport.
If there are issues with the RDL, it won’t give you any details, just a generic error. If you go directly to the reports server and try to upload it, it will give you a better error message.
