We upgraded from 10.2.200.24 to 10.2.600.5 this week, and I’ve had a few of our users mention that the general performance of Epicor seems to be worse. In particular we’re seeing more of a delay when opening forms, especially the new Kinetic forms (the AP/AR Invoice Group posting forms is an example that’s been mentioned).
Is this something that’s expected, or is there anything we can do to help mitigate this?
I’m in the same boat. I’m going to test on a fast machine and see if its a client issue or not.
We’re going 10.2.300 to 600. Testing Phase.
We are in the test phase of 600 right now. Coming off 400 going to 600. So far, I’ve not had any reports of performance issues.
This is commonplace in my company as well.
We’ve got load times ranging from 10s to 3 minutes.
System speed doesn’t seem to be an issue, same type of load time on low end vs higher end.
We’re using SaaS.
Even non kinetic forms? Do you have a lot of customizations/personalizations?
The first time the kinetic form is opened it will take some time but the second time should be faster as it is loading from cache.
Including Non-Kinetic Forms
I’m not sure what would constitute a lot of customizations?
We have a few UD fields and places for them, though it’s on module load, not on Data load.
It also seems to have the same load time on uncustomized Modules.
Not sure if the word “Expected” is the correct word to use… but there have been people who have mentioned performance related issues, especially some of the new Kinetic forms. But remember that Kinetic is a work in process. The latest Kinetic forms in the .700 release are much faster, especially when running from a Kinetic menu in a web browser.
Epicor also wasn’t super speedy before .600 and Kinetic. We are on .400 and Epicor just kind of runs at it’s own pace. I wouldn’t see our 400 is “slow” it’s just not as fast as some other network apps.
