Upgrading to 10.2.700.10 from 10.2.600.3

I am basically the only one testing it at this point, I have been trying to get it to production for 3 years now, on and off because I am the IT Manager, managing a team of me… so its hard to focus but we will go live this year, actually wanted to go live on the 22nd, but found a few more issues I was ironing out and I had the idea of updating… uggg.

Don’t bother with posting rules. Just load them.

Thanks, so it turns out I miss read the upgrade guide… the portion where you import, delete and the other option… i deleted the database… which is why I couldn’t find it, I restored the server, started the process again and now everything is working, thanks for working with me but all my issue hhaha.

I made a separate backup of the server as I am doing more to make it final but it was all me haha.

Thanks mike, while I went over the entire guide,… I miss read the part about the database options, import, delete, and the other options… I deleted them by mistake but I restored the server and still working through the update, but it looks like everything is working. Thanks

It’s nice to have a test system, backups, and the time to work on something this complicated. Glad to hear you got it worked out. That Appsever delete/recreate really has bamboozled a number of us over the years.

I want a test server, but I am pushing to get more space, we are out of space on the SAN, but money is money, I work with what I have. So thinking logically, it’s easy to do, but the way the document is written on many parts, is just so horrible, and it’s not just this one guide, it’s all I have read. I write my own as well for the company and take feedback on ways to improve my guides, I have made recommendations to Epicor but they fall of def ears it seems. Thanks for the help.

For more space, you could look at the various purge options in Epicor to recover space. Upload your db to the Epicor upgrade portal, and you can get an analysis on the various table sizes to see if purging and shrinking is worth it. We’ll be saving about 40GB per environment once we do it (have been LIVE since Aug 2015, and will purge back to 12/31/2017…
