Upgrade New OS/SQL or keep the same?

We are starting to plan an Upgrade from 10.1.400 -> 10.2.200

Currently on Windows Server 2012 and SQL Server 2012.

Should I install everything on Windows Server 2016 with SQL Server 2017?

Or is it not worth the extra effort?

Apparently 2017 isn’t Epicor certified yet.

Latest and greatest on EPICOR Certifed.

This is from the install guide. Would make me think Server 2016 with SQL Server 2017 would work. no?

That’s what we saw here. When @rapat_mark asked epicor for the latest version of SQL they sent him 2016.

Which version SQL Server 2016 SP 2?

? I’m not sure.

SQL Server isn’t something you want to change version on again soon after doing an upgrade.

I would go for 2017, it’s a supported config - jump in two feet, you can test the water for the rest of us @knash

Does anyone have any document an upgrade they could share.

I am looking for server to application install. I get the general idea of what needs to be installed. Just don’t know what I am missing.

We also use APM and Portal. If I upgrade the Epicor Server what needs to be done on those servers other than updating the client?

If I go the route of cloning the server and do an in-place upgrade. What is the right way of updating the APP server after cloning the VM?

Same thing happened to me when I requested the latest version of SQL from Epicor.

Has anyone experienced issues with SSRS deployment under 2017 SQL and Epicor 10.2?
