Manufactured parts to inspection

We process our purchased parts and subcontracting as you described below.

For manufactured parts, we have an inspection operation on our job
travelers. The inspectors either punch in to record the quantity of parts
that passed as well as any parts they scrapped for destructive testing, or
they place the discrepant parts into the non-conforming system for further
review.

If the non-conforming parts then require a sort or rework operation, an
operation is added immediately previous to the inspection operation, then
the parts pass back through inspection to either be passed or failed again.

Hi All,

My company still operates where the inspection department checks
virtually each part number that is either received from a supplier via a
PO or is manufactured.

With PO receipts, Vantage puts all items received into inspection where
the "Inspection required" flag is check.

However it seems as though the only time a manufactured part is sent to
the in-inspection process screen is when an NCMR is generated from the
operation.

Ideally it would be nice if there were some way to get all parts to go
into the in-inspection processing screen prior to going into stock.

Does anyone else operated in this manner, and if so how do you deal with
this issue?

Thanks,

If you use data collection, have the last operation record their quantity in
NonConformace instead of good pieces.
