Kit Shipping

Hi Experts,

I have set up some sales kits and am receiving some unusual results in shipping.

Parts/components look OK in the Engineering workbench and the kits parts are loaded into the sales order under the parent part. Kit parts are allocated.

The parent loads into the shipment entry and the kit parts load into the 'Sales Kit component issue tab.
Shipping quantities, bins etc look all ok.

When I click shipped the parts disappear in the ‘Sales Kit component issue’ and nothing happens. If I click again…I get the kit cannot ship incomplete (that’s what you might expect). There are no trans in the trans table.

Any help or ideas would be welcome.

Hi Steve,

We use Sales Kits frequently and do not experience anything like this. Sometimes we have a problem with some component parts wanting to pull from another warehouse due to product group sales plant being different from kit product group sales plant… but that’s another story.
Perhaps send screenshots of your kit setup? Here’s ours for the part / site, kit setup and method. We do not allocate parts… Could there be a problem with that? Is there any chance you have a bpm running on the shipment line?

Thanks for the help, and I checked my settings against your notes. All ok.

I have perhaps narrowed the problem down to an issue with the Part settings or an associated setting to the Part.

I have set up a few Kits using some different parts and it all works fine. Then some other products that will be the components in the Parent kit disappear when I click ship as mentioned. Everything is allocated etc.

I have compared the Parts in a BAQ and they all look the same except for the LotNxtNum no.

I will keep looking. All tips or ideas are welcome.
