Some additional findings:

In any Kinetic MES version:
If you have favorites set to open in a specific site/company, then

  • It uses a full license (EAC calls it “Enterprise Processing,” I think)
  • It lets you do “get details,” etc. at that point. Because you’re using a full license. So it’s not a trick…

In 10.2.700:

  • I find that I am able to post an invoice from Kinetic MES, (not because of the exception above; I mean even if I’m in only one site at a time)
  • I think it’s because it launches a Kinetic version of the screen
  • Still can’t “get details” from Job Entry nor open Part Entry from “open with,” etc.

It’s no surprise now which direction Epicor is heading. This thread you created @JasonMcD is just sublime. Like a fine violin concerto. Or a fine wine getting even better as it ages. Man, bravo.
