When you get a minute, can you take a look at this question from the Vantage Yahoo Group and let me know the answer? I had responded regarding how we handle consigned goods for York, but I do not know how the order side of things is handled (I would assume that we build based on some sort of projection and don't necessarily enter orders for each release).

We have a similar setup we are version 6.1. We do the transfers to the consignment warehouse, our problems are to maintain the order release closed. How do you manage to determine what releases are already shipped?
Or to plan production? We are currently closing the releases manually but sometimes some releases open creating nothing but confusion.

We have several consignment programs with customers. We have established a "warehouse" for each of our consignment customers. For example, we have a regular FG warehouse ("Finished Goods-Angola" - we are located in Angola, IN), and several consignment warehouses ("Finished Goods-Intel" or "Finished Goods-AMD").
When we ship to their site, we do a stock transfer to move the parts from the "FG-Angola" warehouse to the "FG-Intel" warehouse (since the parts in the "FG-Intel" warehouse are still ours, no sales transaction occurs). I believe a manual pack slip and bill of lading is created for trucking purposes. Then, when "Intel" calls and tells us they pulled 100 widgets from stock, we bill them from the "FG-Intel" warehouse, thus, relieving the inventory and recognizing the sale (the Vantage pack slip and BOL automatically generated are discarded). Then we ship them
100 more and the process starts over again.
