Epicor 9, cannot close job due to serial # issuance

I had this problem in 10.0.700.4

First thing check in job entry that you have a final operation checked.

If you don’t have an operation checked as final the check one.

Then post time zero hours against that operation and close it.

That usually works  in most cases.

For the ones that won’t work even if you have a final operation checked

Epicor made us a data fix workbench program to force it closed.

We have recently over the last week went live with Epicor 9.05.702a and have a came across a strange problem we've never seen before.

In the “Job Completion/Closing Maintenance” screen, for job number 0005156-1-1HW, when I check the boxes for “complete” and “closed” and then click on “save” I get the following message:

“For assembly 0, 0 serial numbers are required but 4 serial numbers are assigned for the assembly. Cannot close.”

For job 0005156-2-1HW, I get the same message, but the quantity is different (1 was assigned instead of 4).

I have no idea what this message means or what needs to be done to “fix” the situation and close the jobs.

Anyone have a idea what's going in here?
have a look using option Serial Number Assignment found under Production Management --> Job Management --> General Operations.
