Having a sporadic issue with sending email after having rebuilt the terminal server and SMTP settings on the P21/SQL server. I’ve tried setting permissions on IIS on the TS as found in a couple sites searching this issue. Anyone familiar with these issues and know the resolution?

Searching on the 08S01 shows a communication link failure on the SQL server and the root cause seemed to mostly be tcp issues. Some people reported changing to named pipes and avoiding tcp seemed to be a work around, but not a fix.
Thanks Greg. Had a small configuration issue in IIS 6.0 that was resolved. Used Anonymous, but had some settings that need to be corrected.
