Direct Deposit

We want to use Vantage for payroll. The problem we are
facing is the NACHA format for direct deposit. Has
anyone addressed this issue and is there a file
available that will supply the bank with the necessary
information for processing?

Jack:
You'll probably get alot of feedback on this - alot of users have said they
are able to avoid the NACHA format because their bank does the formatting
etc. And someone out there has a program that creates the file, but it must
be an older version because it wouldn't work for me on 6.0 or now on 6.1.
After alot of investigation with that and checking to see what our bank
could or couldn't do, I finally just now ordered a custom program from
Epicor for creating the NACHA direct deposit file. I will be installing it
and testing it on a test db soon, so if you want to know more about it, feel
free to contact me for more info. The cost wasn't that bad, and knowing
we'll most likely be on 6.1 for quite awhile, it'll be worth it.

Hope that helps.

Julie-

I would be interested in learning more. Another Vantage user who is
either on 5.0 or 5.1 uses Vantage Payroll and uses our same bank
(National City) for direct deposit. I understand that it is pretty easy
for them (I was lead to believe no special programming was required for
them). I asked our cash mgmt. rep to contact theirs so that we can be
set up the same; however, I forgot that there could be differences due
to versions (we too are on 6.1). I am in the testing stages and plan to
go live 4/1 - if there are any "gotchas" with 6.1 vs. earlier versions,
I'd like to know ASAP.

Thanks!

Rick, we have used National City for version 5.0, 5.1 and now 6.1. Their
web product is Exact4Web and it is very easy to use. You log in to the web
page, upload the standard text file Vantage creates when you print paychecks
with DD, verify the totals (or detail if you want) and you are done. I have
never had a problem from their end. I have uploaded a file at 7:30pm on a
Thursday night with a Friday effective date and everyone had their pay
Friday morning. We have switched banks again (our owner loves to switch
banks) but I keep a National City account just to do our direct deposits.
