Can you enable Tasks without enabling CRM?

I want to be able to use Tasks, but not use CRM, is that possible?

I think Tasks are also in the Case Management module. If you have Case Management, you should be able to use Tasks without CRM

Tasks are also possible as part of an engineering workflow.

I am thinking if I want to use Tasks under Quotes, I need CRM enabled? Can anyone confirm?
