Yes it appears to, I exported to an xml file then tried to import to Epicor 9, and then it Epic Failed.... Something about being a legacy query.

Sounds like you may be forced to recreate the BAQs by hand.

Possibly some may work (I do not have 9 installed) - those with the same fields and tables may work...

I am trying to pull material information from a job in a BAQ. For some reason I am getting duplicate rows of information. I have displayed all of the options in that table to see if there was something different but, everything is the same.  Has anyone ever experienced duplicate lines for the same part number? It is preventing me from getting accurate job totals.

I do have the same part in multiple sub-assemblies, but even the req. qty is showing the same so that's why I did not think that was the issue. I will look to see if I can find a way to clear additional entries without removing what I need. All I am trying to get is a comparison of the total job estimates against the actuals. I will try again.

Thank you for your response Len.

Good Day Millicent:

Part.Tracker program has a cost by assembly screen Part.Tracker>>Job details >> Assemblies >>Costs which might help.
Note that you have to highlight the item in the tree and then "retrieve" to get each assembly.

My interpretation is that "Estimated" is the cost of the parts when the JOB was created.
"Actual Total" is the cost when the parts are issued.
There is then a "details' button in the middle of the screen.

Please see my BAQ below... It is not complete because I have to add a calculation for the cost that the table does not list, total estimate.

for each JobOpDtl no-lock , each JobHead no-lock where (JobOpDtl.Company = JobHead.Company and JobOpDtl.JobNum = JobHead.JobNum ) , each JobMtl no-lock where (JobHead.Company = JobMtl.Company and JobHead.JobNum = JobMtl.JobNum ) and JobMtl.JobNum BEGINS '737-03' .

Len,
Yes, I am aware of the one in Job Tracker but, I have multiple jobs tied together, like a project. I wanted to add the total estimate for those jobs without doing it individually every time. I am adding them manually using production detail until a come up with something that will add them for me based on job pre-fix.

How many operations did that specific job have?  How many material parts did that Job contain?  I ran your BAQ as is and I received a record for every material per operation.  I changed the BAQ to the following and I was able to get multiple jobs (based on my filter), and each material specific to the relatedOperation. Try this.

for each JobHead where (  JobHead.JobNum BEGINS '678') no-lock , each JobOpDtl where (JobHead.Company = JobOpDtl.Company and JobHead.JobNum = JobOpDtl.JobNum) no-lock , each JobMtl where (JobOpDtl.Company = JobMtl.Company and JobOpDtl.JobNum = JobMtl.JobNum and JobOpDtl.OprSeq = JobMtl.RelatedOperation) no-lock .

Did you link to any other tables that might have duplicate records ( rev level, qty-bins, etc., plants, )

If in Job transactions could be reversal of an issue?
Same part in two assemblies?

I am trying to pull material information from a job in a BAQ. For some reason I am getting duplicate rows of information. I have displayed all of the options in that table to see if there was something different but, everything is the same. Has anyone ever experienced duplicate lines for the same part number? It is preventing me from getting accurate job totals.

Good Day Millicent:

Looks rather straightforward; the only possibility is “Issue-Qty” in JobMtl. Maybe you get duplicate records if you issue, de-issue, re-issue.

For one of the ones with a problem, look at transaction screen, PTHT, and see if there is more than one entry there. Issue-reissue, or partial issue then final issue.

In Part.tracker under  on-hand>> part location >> WIP see if it has a duplicate record.

I do not used JOB’s very much, so do not have a lot of experience.

Len,
Yes, I am aware of the one in Job Tracker but, I have multiple jobs tied together, like a project. I wanted to add the total estimate for those jobs without doing it individually every time. I am adding them manually using production detail until a come up with something that will add them for me based on job pre-fix.

Do your jobs contain subassemblies or just materials?

Copy the BAQ here...example: This will allow the users to see what the query is and what tables are linked.

for each PartRev no-lock where PartRev.Approved = true And PartRev.Plant = 'nwo' , each PartOpr no-lock where (PartRev.Company = PartOpr.Company and PartRev.PartNum = PartOpr.PartNum and PartRev.RevisionNum = PartOpr.RevisionNum and PartRev.AltMethod = PartOpr.AltMethod ) and not PartOpr.OpCode BEGINS 'n-' .

Millicent,

If all you are trying to do is compare estimates with actuals for the totals, take a look at the JobAsmbl table.  The Data Dictionary Viewer will give you field definitions - you mentioned projects and this is a great way to get the top level versus lower level information if you are using job-to-job transactions.
